The Unhomely Series
This series of medium format photographs were taken at a house relocations yard, where houses are stored having been uprooted and moved from their original locales. In photographing this space I was approaching the uncanny from its most blatant roots, as its direct translation to english from the german word die unheimlich is the unhomely. The house is a profound locale for exploring the uncanny in relation to ourselves as human being, as we associate the home as a hub of security and familiarity. However these dislocated existents pose a story of their own as they were dislocated from their intended historical conventions.
